On the day of Sanjinkou, they gather at Yado (the house of duty), and hang and worship the hanging scroll of Konohanasakuya-hime*<sup>1<\/sup> received from Kogota Shrine in Miyagi Prefecture. They enjoyed feast, amazake*<sup>2<\/sup>, and talking only with women in a relaxed atmosphere. Sanjinkou was also a place of earnest prayer to help and encourage each other for women who play an important role in childbirth and childcare.<\/p>\n<p>In Teshio, Sanjinkou was rooted in Sakkaeshi, Higashi-Ubushi, and Maruyama.
