Enlighten knowledge and open up the next generation
In a life of cultivation, migrants funded each other and they did not spare any effort in building a school. The future of the settlement was created by education of the children who will lead the next generation. In addition, enthusiastic young people dedicated their youth to festivals and social service while learning from night schools and lectures. Youth activities such as athletic competitions, talent show and ski competitions have left a great mark on social education and formation of local culture.
知を啓き（ひらき）、次代を拓く
開墾に追われる生活の中で、移住者は資金を出し合い、労力を惜しまずに学校をつくった。開拓地の未来は、次代を担う子どもたちの教育によって拓かれるものだった。また、意気さかんな青年たちは、夜学、講演会に学びつつ、祭りや社会奉仕に若い力を燃やした。運動競技会、演芸会、スキー大会などの青年活動は、社会教育や地域文化の形成に大きな足跡を残した。
